Do Not Place on Open Wounds 2019  We live in a culture that tells us to conceal our sadness. In order to be socially acceptable we hastily apply bandages to our emotional wounds, leaving them untreated to fester beneath the layers. In this new series of work, Christine considers reasons why we treat our physical and emotional wounds differently within western culture. Materials typically reserved for concealing and protecting physical wounds are given a new association  as objects of adornment.
