Tangelo Tree Jewellery Releases New Collection

 

A Stunning new collection of covetable art jewellery from New Zealand’s ‘Tangelo Tree’ is now available.  ‘Billie Dove’ is the new range of limited edition necklaces & bracelets created by artist Christine Cook in her Northland studio near the east coast of New Zealand.

 

Inspired by the exotic glamour of 1920’s Ziegfeld Follies Showgirls during the height of the Jazz age, Cook has created rich & intricate works of wearable art.  Inspiration is drawn from the extravagant Follies shows, from the sumptuous & highly ornate Erte designed costumes, and from the captivating lives of the showgirls themselves – of whom the legendary Billie Dove was one.

 

Thoughtful, conscious design and attention to detail dominate.  The new range continues with craft techniques developed in the debut range, this time borrowing from the opulence and exoticism of the 1920’s, incorporating even more rich detail and texture with ornate beading & elegant tassels.

 

Although a relatively young brand, Tangelo Tree is rapidly cultivating an easily identifiable style. Cook’s love of tradtional handcraft techniques, innate sense of colour, and use of innovative materials combine to form a careful fusion of contemporary glamour with a tribal aesthetic.

 

The Billie Dove collection consists of 12 limited edition necklaces & 18 bracelets, each piece flawlessly crafted by hand in Cook’s studio and now available for purchase online & in selected retail outlets.
